Car & Caravan

We're using our 3 litre Touareg TDI R-line towing our Sterling Continental caravan. It's the first time either of them have been on a long adventure with us, although they've wandered around the UK coast a little.

The van's layout works well for us:

The outfit's similar to our old Touareg and Swift's Elegance that we tested around Iceland a couple of years ago, although this Touareg's got more street cred but fewer off road credentials. After our travelling experiences, we are real fans of this big VW. The 'van has the same tough construction as the Elegance, though, and we love it - so here's hoping for an adventure without major problems. Fingers crossed, then.

Blog & Images

All photos are by us [Geoff&Sue] unless credited.
We use:
  • Sony Xperia Z5 Dual Sim
  • Sony Xperia XA Dual Sim
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-48
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ-60
Images are there to record the adventure and, as such, are almost always without editing or tuning... anyway, we have better things to do!

For this trip, the blog is written on Xperia Z5 and Huawei M3 Mediapad, uploaded over Vodafone LTE or local WiFi as available. Image quality depends on available data bandwidth and state of exhaustion of photographers.

The phones almost select themselves - reliable, good cameras and able to take large 200GB data cards together with two SIM cards, which are almost essential for our travelling life style.

The Huawei Media pad was a last minute addition prior to our New Zealand trip but since purchasing it I've stopped using the laptop for blogging. I would recommend this tablet to anyone; an excellent, well made and designed bit of kit.
